Mommy Loves You

One time was joy
One time was empty
When found the first time
A real flutter inside was mine.
Weeks of sick with days of fatigue
Still came more satisfaction of who I am meant to be.
Once found quick and instant sick, came pain.
Sanitizing smells and a room and empty hand
Heart sank faster than quick sand.
Once anticipated dreamless world
Now never knowing if faces were a boy or girl!
Black nights, alone
Empty with no unconditional console.
Whether in another world or white lace wings

I can hear the first words and a soft whisper

When colors turn to gray and can't undo

I grasp my shirt, hear the memory melody with a scarred heart and whisper back, "Mommy loves you."

Alisha Merritt Williams

Previously divorced and now happily married to my life partner. I am now a step-mother of 3 at 32 years old. Born and raised in, Maine, mostly small towns with little population. I enjoy the quiet. I enjoy times with friends and family but, currently work 2 jobs. I have lived in other states working odd-end jobs to stay afloat and am now a successful vital person in the medical and psychiatric field. I am not wealthy in the sense of a defining green color, but I am one of the richest individuals in the world because I have a wife and kids to come home too who love me unconditionally. I reflect and write about anything in many genres. Enjoy and don't judge, like I would do for you. more…
