A Musical Notion

Strings struck, the tiny buzz vibrations of metal wires spreading through air.

What's this phenomenon conjure from the brain? The expression of soul that bears

the fruit of listening's pair.

Radiant energy of harmonic sound sprays metallic gleam and glitter far

A trillion atoms sync with sparkling invisible waves; ajar

and patient the door of hearing waits for music's star.

Simplest kinetic motion carries complexity of pitch and notes

with all quick speed flashing past space's slow and dusty motes

to find a home in auditory nerve and flesh and bone,

there to resonate long past energy's fade.

In organic link from cell to listening spirit's shade:

at last, the magic of music nobly manifest is made.
