The star

Up, soaring in the air
Drifting feather soft
Swirling with radiant light
Fast spinning ' round
Grace and beauty
Long and lean
Golden as the sun
Diamonds cover, a glittering net
Thundering rhythem, excited hearts
The roar of the crowd
The screams and tears
He's an angel, a god
Muscles ripple in movement
The song dances in his head
He's adrift in a dream, another world
Then, they're gone
He stands alone
The loudness of silence overcomes
Sinking slowly to the floor
Enveloped in pain and loss
Tears slide in the dark
But he'll do it all again
The need is inside
Once more, he'll capture their hearts
Though in the end he must be alone
With only the pain of a memory shared.
