“You used to get A’s and B’s now you show up with this”
“Why are you so drained all the time all you do is learn”
“Well your friends get good grades”
All different ways to say you're better than this.

You're comparing me to my old self,
It's the polite way for a parent to say
 You’re no longer worth the reward,
Be a perfect student even if you’re declining,
So what if you’re tired I work longer than you.
You’ve really gotten dumb over the years.
You should be more like them.

 Even though you say nothing they hear.
Why should I care,
You did the same thing,
It's my life not yours so stop caring,
It's not my fault you checked my grades.

We all wish we could say this but we’re “too nice”
Just because you were perfect doesn't mean I am,
I am mentally drowning how can you not see it,
If you want the old me back be my guest, try to find her,
You tell me not to cry but it's the only thing I have left of her,
I'm not a doll you can toy with,
Yeah, keep rubbing salt into the cut.

You should be a good student i was great in school,
