Sweet Destruction
Tabatha Berrios 1988 (New Jersey)
I had laid with you, shared my body with you.
Our souls are tied together.
Your scent lingered. It was electric.
Consumed with the aftershock.
Distant memories flutter through my mind as if it were present.
My skin starts to tingle, face starts to heat up, heart begins to rapidly beat, breaths shallow.
Pure ecstasy.
She is an addict. The drug came into her possession without seeking it out.
It controlled her mind, body and her essence.
An abusive relationship.
She laughed, she cried, felt love and suffered.
In the end it destroyed her.
The withdrawal ravaged her vitality.
Filled her with despair and sorrow.
Exiting her system, she was abandoned in misery.
This drug was idolization. All-consuming worship.
An emotion that obliterated her into nothingness.
