Little Pip

Hey!
Hey…
What have you done today?
Where have you been?
And tell me, who have you seen?
When I look in your eyes,
I know –
I know...
...you’ve been sat here,
talking to ghosts.

I, I can see.
All that you want to do is talk
to me
and sleep.
So I lie,
oh how I lie,
to give you peace -
Coz the truth isn’t kind, I believe.

And when you look at your hands
you always seem so surprised.
They’re covered in lines
weathered by time.
So hold out your hands
Let me warm them in mine.
Let me tell you,
your hands seem fine.

(Forgive me
Forgive me)

And when the ghosts talk to you,
though there’s nobody there,
I’ll play along
and raise my hat to nothing but air;
coz all that I want,
all that I seek,
all that I dream
is to relieve
a little of this madness
that you
get to
sleep.

When you look at your hands
you always seem so surprised.
They’re covered in lines
weathered by time.
So hold out your hands
let me warm them in mine.
let me tell you –
your hands
feel like
pieces of ice
(it’s breaking my heart)
Take it from me –
they look just fine.
