Time is not friendly

As a man sits on his porch he notices the dust on the wood still holds the footprints of his Grand kids that used to visit him often. Unlike the clock on the wall that has stopped. They moved away and now he has little to look forward to. He looks out across the horizon as the sunsets and he runs through his mind times in the past when it seem like his youth was endless. Now that he's retired he has more love to give others however no one is available.  When he looks in the mirror he does not recognize the man stairing back at him. His mind is still sharp but his body says otherwise. What occupies his eyes now is sadness of where it all went. With no one to share things with his value comes into judgment. When did he become so disconnected to the world. Where were the warning signs of his youth becoming extinct. Who will he pass his experiences and knowledge on to. The sun now dips behind the edge of the sky and it's time to go inside. Will tomorrow bring something different we'll have to wait see. Don't hold your breath. Is this everyone's future.
