Never Give Up

Marty Francom 1952 (Illahee)

In the realm of words and tales untold,
Where narratives of life and dreams unfold,
Remember this, my friend, in all their glories,
Bad chapters craft the most astonishing stories.

In the labyrinth of choices, paths we tread,
Sometimes we wander where shadows spread,
Yet amidst the chaos, in unexpected spaces,
Wrong paths can unveil life's hidden graces.

Failed dreams may haunt our restless nights,
But in their wake, the soul takes flight,
For from the ashes of what once seemed dire,
Successful people emerge, their spirits on fire.

In life's enigmatic dance, we often sway,
Losing our way in the light of day,
But fear not, for in the depths of night,
We find ourselves, bathed in newfound light.

So cherish the stumbles, the falls, the strife,
They're the elements that shape our life,
For within each setback, we're reborn anew,
A resilient spirit, stronger, tried, and true.

For bad chapters create stories profound,
Wrong paths lead to treasures yet to be found,
Failed dreams, they fuel the determined heart,
In losing ourselves, we find our truest part.

So never give up, for there is beauty to be found,
In every twist and turn, on life’s ever changing ground.

Marty Francom is a retired Pharmacist and self taught programmer, who owned and operated his own pharmacy but also developed pharmacy software that he sold to other small independent pharmacies. At age 72, I woke up one morning and had an urgent feeling that I need to write my life’s story. After creating over 30 stories and poems of his life and the lives of some of his ancestors, I thought to myself there is something missing. My descendants need to know what my philosophies are, political and cultural. So, he created some short stories and poems on various subjects that interested him. more…
