December

The shepherd was a subdued wolf.
The hermit had a cloak, a stick and a bag, and a book.

The goat was a sheep who awoke from a bear's slumber.
The wheel takes the apes across,
down, around, back and forth, up and under.

The winter...

It's when soldiers surrender.
And frost is what caused the farmer's blunder.
Famine befell and the mandem was cold,
How feminine warmth protects the fold.

Don't waste time chasing dragons.
The monarch is a false prophet.
A quick fix, like an icy blanket.
Pushers peddling poison for profit.
A pinched fist can't fight when anguished.

It's easy to fall, when you need strength to stand.
We should break bread, not break hands,
But we sell our soul for the brands and bands instead.
The racks, the Ps, the duckets, the ends.

We should love above as below from upon the land
We progress towards a flame of warmth
It's what our roots demand...

from us.

Don't blame the torch if you get burnt of course.
Don't focus on the finger more than the light it points forth,
which shines above and within our soul at night.
The joint force.
The Buddha pack.
The mushroom bruises blue,
In fact, so do you.

The silo full of grains for the bread to nourish your growing pains before bed.
I might be insane in my head,
Frost-bitten blackfoot but I will prevail like the queen of the great plains,
I awoke when September ends.

And everything was green and grey.
I heard a friendly voice asking me to come out and play.
It got colder and colder and the moon shortened the day.

But I'll keep on keepin' on like Nina say.
It's all Jesus, peaches and cream, it's okay.
I'm just a slacker and paranoid about the word they.
But not the gendered they, I get that, and I'm an alien anyways.

They are the ones who oppose the democratic governments.
And I didn't mean to get political but hey,
I'm a slacker anyway.

I don't mean shit to them.
I'm just another brick to them.
Call me Pink Floyd, I'm a witch to them.
That was now, this is then.
I must be trippin'...

Damn.

Get some coco coir,
Vermiculite might help.
Some sterilized water,
Watch the mycelium,
Breathe in the helium,
Oxygen, and breathe with it
Neon lights are even in the air,
For a second flounder like you're within some kelp.
You're okay, we all need some help.
I am that I am, we are who we are.
I grew something magical on a shelf.

You haven't seen the scene I gleaned in my bars,
That was my ego talking,
I ate an Eggo for breakfast
I wore no shoes to the ball.
I recall I was sober before it all.
It was December...

I remember,
                      December.
