Cradled to the Grave.

When I was old
and you were young,
just with our eyes
real love was lain.

When you are old
and I am dead,
when only mem’ries -
fleeting remain;

will you remember,
with a rose-tinted lament
what we wanted,
what we promised,
what it cost,
what we spent.?
