Nothing

William brooks 1959 (Salem)

She says she loves me but I have nothing. To the table I want to bring something. I am not poor but I havent a lot. Seems that she is caught on the spot. She deserves more more than I can give. And need the necessities in order to live. But what can I give I have nothing at all. How can I help if she begins to fall. Money isnt everything but theres a time of need. No other way for her to succeed. She needs someone who will carry her well. And be beside her if she happens to fail. So what I dont have she is alright with that. Loving one another is where we are at. She accepts me even without the money. And that does make my everyday sunny.

About this poem

Sometimes a man is financially burdened and is a little skeptical about getting into a relationship. It hurts a man when he cannot provide.
