The mysterious lane.

I was alone under a light post
and standing face to face.
The bright light flooded my visage.

The narrow lane seemed to me
a haunted place.
The every dark house like ghost
and the street like snake,crawling on chest.

The moon,stars enhancing the eeriness.
suddenly I heard hooting of owl.
As if it was alreting me
before a strange time.

I found a quick footed moongoose
crossing the road.
It became aware,
paused and stare.

Suddenly there was gust of wind.
and the lane plunged into darkness.
The pitch dark night seemed to me,
more mysterious and eerie.
