As I look at my arm I can see a map that tells a story; a story of pain and self loathing, it brings feelings of shame so I do my best to keep it hidden under my clothing. I see the scars as a sign of insecurity and weakness, with a longing for purpose and a need for completeness.
When I look at them I am reminded of the rough road I have traveled, and the many times my life has been out of control and unraveled.
But through it all my faith in God has given me the strength I needed and I have thrived, I have made it this far, I have survived.
