Scene 3 in Scenes from a Sexless Marriage

Tale as old as time. True as it can be.
I look at him, can I see any gold?
we’re told, this something, fears are set at ease
Is there a something there my lust can hold?

Small to say the least. Both a little scared
He is so kind and easy, wealthy still
Inside deep somewhere, I wish that I cared
Is being a good friend his lonely skill?

True as it can be? Tale as old as time!
No, it’s not true, he is a father great!
If only my eyes were bound by this rhyme
I could see beauty there and not ill fate

Song as old as rhyme. Beauty and the beast
Both scared a little. “Too small” says the least.
