WISHING

I sit all day looking through the night, lighting the evening sky. Everything is coming as I gave up wishing on the stars because they are closer than they appear. Looking back at me, all I can do is stare into the sun, asking myself how long I have been a prisoner who is free and did not know I am like a tree that continues to grow, refusing to be cut down.

I sit by the ocean, watching the low and high tides. I write my words daily and watch them roll away at night. I sit on the bay's dock to paint my masterpiece; my love is my release.

I want to close my eyes to dream of the seas of reality i want to open my heart and finish what they said needed to be done from the start i want to wash away the mud that stains my mind
