Rust

I am very shaky, and don’t know why.
I believe that my anxiety may be high.
I sit here wondering what to feel,
And also wondering if my emotions are real
Or figments of my imagination.
You know, things of my own creation?

I sit behind a mask when in public,
And movement through life makes me oh so carsick
That I slow down and try to stay still.
Or maybe it is that I’m losing my will
To move forward in this moment in time…
Or maybe it I should be reading the signs
Of age taking hold of me.
Why can’t I just let me be me?

So now I sit as I stare out the glass
Of a window tainted with a most dreadful past
And I just sit, and stare, and mull around
As life halts with a big screeching sound.
I’m taken aback, can’t believe my eyes
As my life has brought me a surprise, my demise.
Not in a way of full destruction of course…
Just in ways that life gives no remorse
Of loved ones lost, and souls left hurt
As we bury our loved ones in solemn dirt.

But life has brought me a most wonderful thing.
This beautiful person who bears a ring
Made of metal and gems, so precious.
And wears my arms around their neck, and this know this.
I passively gaze into depth of their soul
And see it burn brighter than wind-stricken coal
As it passes, and dances amongst the crisp breeze.
I just hope that everyone else can see
How I love this person with all of my heart.
And with this I say, Shall we never part.

They bring me from brinks of sure destruction.
Especially when I am met with combustion
Of emotions and things that I can’t understand.
And this is why the person dawns this wedding band.
They take me away from myself and hold high,
My dreams, my passion, but I don’t know why.
And maybe we aren’t meant to understand love.
It was definitely sent from gods up above.

So if you find someone that does this for you.
Make sure you hold onto them so tried and true.
For some days may be too difficult to handle
And you must know when the wick of the candle
Blows for you in that breeze mentioned thusly.
So keep it for yourself, and wear it like lovely
Jewelry made of gold, and this is a must.
For without this person, your life can turn to Rust.
