Clever Snake

Lindsay Mayeux 1992 (United States of America)

Into the garden he slithered in
With one goal in mind
To drag -
Down -
Humankind
His army breaks way
Causing choas and decay
Hunger, fruitless, desperation
Sets in

He speaks in songs of velvet,
Lies minced with truth,
Careful not to offend,
Careful not to build too much,
He'll tell you what you want to hear,
If only you will lend an ear

He comes in promises of peace,
That only he can provide,
To reign in the divide,
To believe in his,
Guide;
Disguise,
In your -
Demise

A false hope,
A false light,
His darkness so deep
it shines
He will eat and devour you whole
Selling his cure
His requirement -
Your payment -
You need only bow -
