Only Love

Lusting long for dominion
Seeking souls for them to rule
Bleeding hearts for them to damn
Knowing no word such as cruel

For characters uncaring
Such a concept is simple
As for my most human heart
Beats dwindle unto trembles

Shelves stocked full of individuals
Blessed creatures left to waste
Outpaced by a power which
Has found rotten roots in hate

This hate is for whomever
May decide to look skyward
Fists rise and they are severed
Feared faces turned from sunward

A threatening paradigm
Compassion’s coldest desert
Man turns against his brother
For survival, they assert

This is the coffin of humanity

Where is hope for tomorrow
When today has been stolen
Why should we still trundle on
How shall we be emboldened?

A forgotten horizon
Lay in the grasp of mind’s eye
By new imagination
We foster liberation

Bring an end to confusion
Know yourself as creator
We are the sculptors of worlds
Not subjective spectators

Join hands with me, family
Only love has truest being
Only love at once surmounts
Only love will set us free
