DEAR ISRAEL

DEAR ISRAEL

Dear Israel,
We see you brother
I call you brother as one.
Whos been grafted in,
One whose joined you in
The family of God.
We see you brother,
We've seen the hatred
That the whole world
Has thrown at you
To our shame we often
Shared in that hatred
We often led it
Or just as often
We looked away.
This is our shame
And our sin.
We are your brother
And we see you
We saw your homeland
Taken by ancient Rome
We saw you spread
Throughout the entire world
We saw the dragon try
To devour the House of Jacob.
And we were silent
Some of us, many of us
Even joined in the hatred
Then, we saw the impossible
We saw a valley of bones
Arise from their graves
And gain flesh…
We saw our brother
Scattered and left for dead
Come home, we watched
As you returned, resurrected
By the God we both serve
We know this was not by chance
For He told us both this would happen
And though no one believed it.
Thee Jew is Home, at long last
So here we are, we watched
As a fist flew out and punched
Hit you in the face, we see
 And we Christians, will stand
Beside Jacob our Brother
Whose God also adopted us
Those who bless you Israel,
Those God blessed abundantly
So we pray for the peace of Jerusalem
And that God may bless our brother Jacob
And forgive the church our sin against you
To your enemies, Israel,we warn
Do not awaken the God of Zion
For the wrath of God is going to be shown
And to you, brother Israel
We embrace, at long last you are risen
The world attacks you, but we will
Stand beside the people God chose
Through whom the Son of David came
For us, Israel we see you
And we bless you
Sincerely,
Your brother,
 the Church of Christ
AMEN
