CHAPEL BY THE HILL

CHAPEL BY THE HILL

Found my hope in a chapel by the hill
Where my Lord was beaten and killed
Oh so long ago, yet the chapel is there
Giving travelers comfort and prayer.

I first found this chapel, back in my youth
A bitter heart, desperate for truth
My Lord met me in the chapel's door
Freed my heart of chains I long bore

My Lord taught me in the chapel's park
Shining His Light into the hearts dark
Growing a warrior, in Love's Light
So for the battle, I'd be prepared to fight

I walked out the chapels door, long ago
The enemy and I clashed, but the lessons grow
Yet the blows kept coming, and I constantly fell
The winds blew my shelters all to hell

When the winds cleared, I saw a chapel near a hill
All this long time, it was there, healing still
My Lord welcomed us through His chapels door
Home again, as though I never left before

Here, in Calvary's Chapel we rest
Here in His Chapel we're blessed
Home again to heal and learn
In the chapel, where the Spirit's fires burn
Amen
