BEFORE YOUR ALTAR

BEFORE YOUR ALTAR

I stood before Your altar
My enemies all surround
I feel my will start to falter
But before You I will bow down

My heart is shattered, pierced
Broken by the arrows aimed true
I am destroyed, by enemies fierce
Yet what I am, I offer to you

I am weak, when they are strong
I've fallen more then I've stood
But I know to Whom I belong
I offer myself, take what is good

I am broken, Lord, shattered and torn
Who am I to be a soldier for You?
I am weak, make me reborn
I fall down, create me anew

And my Lord sent His Grace
To heal me from my sin
His Spirit touched my Face
And His strength grew within

As my enemies taunt and mock
My Lord renewed my heart
He became my strength and my rock
I stood, for the battle was about to start

And the arrows flew, but didn't pierce
The enemy roared, but couldn't strike
For my Lord arose in vengeance fierce
Wrath of which I've never seen like

I bow before Your altar
All battles belong to You
Your Love won't ever falter
Give us grace to see it through
AMEN
