Soul Journey

In the quiet of the evening
The wind sings through the trees
The fire softly glows
The peaceful still is calming

Dreams enter of days past
And days yet to come
The loyal and fierce wolf
Always at my side

The crows guide the way
as journeys of the past come back again
For the lessons not heeded
The first time around

Oh gods I am thankful
For all that I am
The wisdom of those days
Is right in my hand

My waters remember the drums
And oh the battle cries
Dear Freya on her ride
Will she pick me up this time?

My blood remembers the rattles
And the volva tent
The bones on the floor
Like a cast net

All of these memories
For what yet is to come
The wisdom of the ages
My work still isn’t done

The sun starts to rise
And the fires are renewed
I pick up my shield and join my sisters
No matter what the day may bring

I know with all my heart and soul
I am surrounded by my brothers and sisters
The determination and resilience
In the air for everyone

Wherever this journey goes
Whatever the result
Doing what I believe in my heart
Couldn’t be a better way to go

The halls in ValHalla are calling
Whether today or tomorrow
I am grounded and strong
Ready for battle
