Crossing Boundaries, Chasing Progress

          Crossing Boundaries, Chasing Progress
                    By: Nicomedes S. Lumontad

Advancements in technology, business, and pedagogy
   speak loudly,
Millions are eager to cling to its plethora of initiatives
    and successes.
Embassies of the US showcase visa applicants’ sweats
   and desires.
Reminiscing the perpetual American influence for a
   better life,
Inviting the eager and the desperate to move for their
   gain.
Cultural shocks weave mental and emotional tremors,
Antagonistic feelings on foreign routines are chewed
   and digested,
Novel experiences wrestle with one’s mindset and
    landscape.

Dictates and dimensions of freedom and opportunity
   are resounding.
Reliance to the One, of oneself, and others is a 24/7
    undertaking.
Excellence in one’s profession is shaped by time, effort,
    and pay.
Acquiring the almighty US dollars remains the slogan
    and reality.
Making the significant others be free from the grip of
    penury.
