Me vs You

Siddhi Singh 2007 (Jaipur)

You wanna kill yourself
I think I know why,
You just can't take it anymore, the voices in your head are getting too high,
They like it when you go crazy,
look at the way they smile,
yeah, they like when you just can't take them, that's when they bury you behind the tiles,
yeah, you look just normal outside, but you're being sold under their aisles,
You think they are here just for you?
Nah, they just wanna see how well you scream,
How well you cry,
They like what you do to yourself,
a couple dozen cuts around your thighs,
You know, They wander around, on every step of theirs a body lies,
Yours might be the one next in line, but wait,
Oh darling, you're never the chosen one,
They might just put you aside,
When you stop your ugly crying.

About this poem

A poem reflecting the darkness that comes from within and what not a person can do to themselves to get rid of these demons that have been creating within them. Reflects a war that a person should never give up on.

I grew up, yeah I just grew up, way before I should have, and I have discovered that I have childhood trauma that is yet to be healed and writing has helped a lot, and maybe this trauma has helped me discovering the 'Qala' (Art) that I have been gifted with, and I just want to embrace it. more…
