Hand Me Down Heart

Another lonely night
That's just about right
Pillows stained with tears
Just to wash away all my fears
Emotions built deep inside
To cover up and wash away my pride
I've nothing left but to close my eyes
As my soul gently cries
Surely there's a reason
I'm only meant for a season
This hand Me Down Heart
Has been so torn apart
It's not an easy life to live
To just give and give
Promises to never stray
Yet not one has proven to stay
This hand Me Down Heart
Will forever remain torn apart

I suffer from many invisible health issues, but I know God has me in His hands. I've been beyond blessed with an amazing life partner and wonderful parents. more…
