Will I Walk Away

Amos Irivboje 2003 (Benin)

the shadowed corners of my heart resides a question deep
Will I walk away from this love that once made my soul leap?
A tapestry woven with threads of joy and tears
Do I have the courage to face my fears?

The echoes of laughter and whispers of the past
Are they enough to make this love last?
Or do I listen to the whispers of doubt and uncertainty
And choose a path that leads to solitary serenity?

In the tender moments of silence, a decision must be made
Will I walk away from the love that once softly swayed?
The road ahead shrouded in mist and unknown
Do I journey forward together or walk alone?

Weighted with memories and promises untold
Can I find the strength to be bold?
To let go of what was and embrace what could be
Or will I choose the familiar and set my love free?

The choice is mine, a burden and a gift in disguise
To hold on or to release, the moment tries
In the end, as the question lingers in the air
Will I walk away from this love or stay and dare?
