Surrendering to Destiny

Sean Andrews 1998 (Kings)

Creativity, a thing of the past.
Free will on the brink of extinction
We share one brain.
And its AI doing the thinking.

Flanked by law and traditions.
Molded by outstanding conditions.
There’s no longer a need to fight,
We are complacent with our decisions.
With foresight of no ending,
We lean on faith.
It's the chosen addiction.

Fabricated realities with a simulated hold
Mind looped tight for complete control!
Destiny's knot leaves no holes.
Clothed with the norms we uphold.
With a wardrobe draped to drain your core

It’s inevitable, already written.
How can we evolve, if the loop is infinite?
Higher power words used to control conviction.
Generational narratives pushed to fruition.
A world made of mostly water,
to match the sponges within it.

About this poem

My poem reflects on where our society is heading. it explores the idea of complacency, reliance on faith, and the struggle for evolution. overall, it conveys a message of contemplation on the potential consequences of a controlled and predetermined existence.
