World of Shadows

For the world so shrinks and grows between four walls,
With such abundance in its scarcity,
Yet scarce in lackings, that Nature forestalls,
Between four eyes, any congruity.

For shadows dance unbeknownst with light feet,
We carry a cross from which we are pinned.
Trust amidst the chaos is not defeat
In a fallen world in which we all sinned.

To truly live is to leave trails of blood.
To truly love is to risk a stopped heart.
