A Howling Poem

I heard the gale force wind last night,
It seemed to howl so loud.
While in my bed it gave me fright!
The moon behind a cloud.

The ghostly wind made Shiloh howl;
Who also was in bed.
But then, my dog began to growl
At what had caused him dread.

And when a branch quite large fell on
My roof and then on me,
A howl of pain was mine 'til dawn
As doctors helped my knee.
