The Beach At Night

Robert loughran 1962 (Ireland)

On the beach day is becoming night.
a celestial changing of the guard.
Under the moons luminous light
sea and sand converge.

The sea lumbers ,ebbs ,recedes,
repays a far distant shore,
who's waters rise in response,
while natures rhythm keeps the score.

How often have i allowed this pass unseen
probably flicking from station to station.
entrapped in some man made malarky.
Turned away from this wonder of creation.

The world turned outside my door .
life happening when i wasn't paying attention.
Beneath these stars ,within this sea, across this living land.
The things of life danced their dance ,oblivious to the machinations of man.
