One cold winter night.

One cold, wintery night.

I'm standing in the darkness all around me. The cold winter winds blow right by me. The giant trees are bending, and as I can hear, the crackling of their branches as they bare the weight of the snow. The storm is coming in fast and descending. Yet I have to stay, and I have nowhere to go. The clouds above me are a shade of gray. They are here and won't go away. The snowflakes fall from the sky; they don't make a sound as they hit the ground. There is no one left to be found. But one lonely dove that sticks around.
