Twisted Sisters

Proactive beginnings to ensure success
Can somehow lead to pure excess
To nudge and peck
To push and shove
Another's place deemed too far above.

A friendship lost to needless ego
Future fun leaves drifting down now
lost  to silts of sadness of what might have been.

Some Sisters' snipe at the weakened boughs of others
who also face our mysteries and the pain  known only to us.
Their years of tears and hidden fears
are yours too,  for

We are all each others children,
sisters and mothers too.
Be kind, be true and help them through

We are bonded by our double X X
so let us grow our success,
for our future sisters'

Embrace, do not deface each other as every one is worthy of their glory.

Nuture each spirit, help her grow
She is you, she is not your foe

Our future is golden
for all we know
Care and love can make it grow

About this poem

As International Women's Day, 8th March approaches, I wrote this poem to highlight this year's theme- Inspire Inclusion. Hopefully to encourage all women to value and help each other, to celebrate and empower our sisterhood.

Relishing the gentleness and creative resonance of Devonshire, England, I find myself meandering through attempts to observe human behaviour, including my own. Hopefully my poems and prose illuminate and encourage kindness and respect for all things, even ourselves. more…
