Stand Against the Wind

When brooding clouds grow angry,
When threatening skies lash out,
When thunder jolts the heavens,
When tempests drift about,
When driving gales abrade you,
When summer’s storms begin,
When trouble churns the waters,
Just stand against the wind!

Let justice be your fortress,
Let mercy shield your soul,
Let truth sustain your spirit,
Let honor take control,
Let humbleness secure your heart,
Let faith make peace within,
Let wisdom grant you courage,
To stand against the wind!

There’s a will that trusts in miracles,
There’s a hope that seeks to fly,
There’s a faith that conquers doubting,
There’s a love that never dies,
There’s a face that fears no evil,
There’s a heart that never bends,
There’s a strength for every challenge,
If you stand against the wind!

Across the raging water,
Our Lord now beckons you,
To walk as his disciple,
And face the storm anew,
As God will be your watchman,
His promise will sustain,
To walk as his disciple,
You must stand against the wind!
