Our Breath

Teresa Sauvage 1960 (Illinois)

January 24

From dust we were formed; with Gods breath adorned.
The years have raced away.

Fall came and went, it seemed so fast.
We've seen our breath as Winter passed.

Our race is run; the sun is setting.
Our breath has slowed as we sit waiting.

For our Lord soon returns to gather his breath.
To adorn it upon whomever is next.

About this poem

I wrote this poem in 2020. My husband was in Hospice. It was a comfort to remember God was there from our first to last breath.
