Now I See

Now I See

Looking through clouded lens
I thought the sky was grey
The sun was gold as the red clay
I saw the fields with tattered grain
I saw the winds leaving behind
Remains of paper remnants with torn words blowing away as
The soft air flowed swiftly upward
disappearing,  leaving blank unfilled penmanship  As the surgeon removed the clouded lens
eyes anew once again
Crystal focus a world of color
Blue skies cover the canvas
How did I never see the beauty beheld
The ink now flows again
The canvas  is now complete again

About this poem

How we see through “rose colored glasses” not realizing there in front all along is beauty and better things in life once we open our eyes to reality.

Artist’s Profile Poetry is a way to express life as the writer tells a story. Often personal experiences or special people inspire the writings of the author. In my own experiences, I found my perception of life and people through the expression of my poetry. I like to use objects and interesting subjects to portray the message in symbolism. At the age of 13, I became interested in writing poetry due to my shyness and difficulty in public speech. I found an easier way of expression through my writings. This became my fantasy and dream. I quit writing as a youth but always keep the secrecy of my poetic dream hidden somewhere in the back of my mind. After computer technology, the wonderful word processor made it possible to once again begin my obsession to write. Not being the accomplished grammar student, I realized my work needed polishing. However, I began to ponder the perfect speller and decided that it is not the grammar that is so terribly important but the message portrayed! If I could write a story and the meaning came across to the reader, Wallah, I have accomplished my goal. Being the romanticist I enjoy writing about love and relationships, adventuresome quests, and life’s true stories. I challenge religious views through revelations to my own insight of perception and experiences including all religious beliefs. I am a simple person with a complexity of thoughts hiding somewhere in my subconscious mind. In conclusion, my goal in writing is to make a statement to inspire the minds of the reader with ideas and thoughts of reality and fantasy. Thus, leaving another way to enjoy poetry!
