Overcame

I saw demons laughing at me
They came with chains to tie me up
But saw a light that made them flee

He held my hand and pulled me from hell
Despite my fate being sealed there, he said all is well
Took his garment cleaned me up and got rid of my terrible smell

Tears rolled down my face
He told me to embrace
For he had ran a race for me and won with victory and resplendent joy

Demons saw this and blasphemed
Anger was in the face of the devil, so much that he would have payed a lot to have me defamed

Christ went down to take my punishment for me so that I'd be freed
From my dirty and mischievous deed

It hurts me to see a perfect man die for a  murderer, a thief and slanderer
Sin never blocked him from being nailed to the cross
It was for me that he took all the pain, for this was no loss

I was bound for eternity into the fires
All because of my murderous desires
Which he wiped as the Messiah of all messiahs
And after all the agonies he shouted on the cross saying "I overcame!"
