Free verse
I thought our story was set
We were the only main characters
So now why am I erased from the narrative,
and she’s intertwined between our words?
I read between the lines
Tried to find the reason behind
why you ripped out our pages, but found room for hers?

About this poem

I wrote this poem when I was thirteen about a friend I was in love with for three years in a row. I could never tell him I was infatuated with him, which is why he went on to confess to me that he loved my then best friend. Hence, stemmed this poem.

Remmi

Hello! I’m Remmi a 14 year old girl writing about personal experiences and challenges as she faces her youthful years head on. My goal is to hopefully bring people back to when they were young and reminisce on all that they overcame when they read my pieces. Writing is a passion i’ve carried throughout my entire life. It becomes almost like a filter for my emotions, something that helps my mind quiet down.
