Faded Sunset

In front of the purple and orange sky
The red sun will set
Taking last night’s dreams to die
Now my tired eyes rest

Over the darkening ocean my mind is at ease
I breathe in the salty, sandy air
My consciousness is once again at peace
My tears once again smile at the darkness

I stumble along the fine line of insanity
Just so I can feel this inner peace and warmth
It settles me down into the sadness of tomorrow
Just to return here and watch the faded sunset
