Heralding Spring

The daffodils have sprung forth
pushing up yet again
through the soil beds
preening themselves
displaying such a vibrant yellow
the shade of which can only be
portrayed by nature
not able to be replicated
by mere mortals

Pink blossoms too are abundant
adorning trees languishing limbs
a virtuoso of colour
heralding too the swift approach of Spring
Such a joyful time of year
and veritable feast for the bees
who unknowingly pollinate all of the flowers
and so the cycle begins anew
nature's perfect plan.
