The Dead Hand

Uliana Saenko 2006 (Moscow)

dip your fingers into my burnt ribcage
wield the ash across your face as grief
where do you draw the line
in the blood soaked ground?

let the dead hand point its decaying finger to the enemy
until the air raid sirens sing their last, desolate song
that no one else will hear
