SOUL HEALING THROUGH THE CHILD WITHIN

Even as you heal,
And you're miles from where you started,
That insecure little girl inside of you,
The one you're trying to heal can be quite fragile.

I don't know if there's a 100 percent healing,
But her insecurities remain right on the surface,
She's spooked by the smallest things,
One minute she's smiling the next feels like the end of the world.

It could be because of something someone said,
Or an attempt that ended in failure,
It could also be a memory that reminds her of the dark times,
Either way, it sneaks up on you.

Consistency is key even when it comes to healing,
So this healthier me doesn't follow her to the darkness,
I hold her hand and swim through the ocean of our tears,
Until we can together see the light and not drown in our tears.

I no longer try to push her further away from my consciousness,
No, that only prolonged the inevitable and pent up the pot,
The boil over almost became the end of me,
That little girl is the core of me.

So now I tend to her to tend to me,
When she's happy I am happy,
Don't fight that inner child she's the core of you,
She could be the one hindrance to your destiny.
