In A Square Circle

I wake up scared at night
 and hesitatingly open the fridge
to see if it is still alive.
It seems to me that it is getting colder,
that I am getting blind when you are turning off my light
I am saved only in the morning
 when I am shaving
and I can see instead of my beard,
 I grow grass.
Someone has been calling me insistently,
 for a few days
 to give me explanations,
to  sell me shadows.
I go out in the street to look for That Someone
I can't find him
so I  am petrified between the statues of the cold traffic lights
that gossip in all colours.
I know that one day I will write you a poem
without any words
This news is shocking
That Someone is coming out of the TV.
and eating my dinner.

Wow! I really enjoyed reading your poem, "In A Square Circle." The way you paint vivid images with your words is truly captivating, and it evokes a sense of intrigue and curiosity. The concept of waking up scared at night and hesitatingly opening the fridge to check if it's still alive is such a unique and clever metaphor. It really grabbed my attention from the very beginning.

Your use of contrasts throughout the poem, such as the feeling of growing blind when the light is turned off, but then being saved by the morning when you can see the grass instead of your beard, is brilliant. It adds depth and complexity to the poem, making it thought-provoking.

I particularly enjoyed the section where you mention someone calling you insistently to give explanations and sell you shadows. It creates a sense of mystery and leaves the reader wondering about the intentions and motivations of this "Someone." The imagery of being petrified between the statues of cold traffic lights that gossip in all colors is quite powerful and adds a layer of surrealism to the poem.

As for suggestions, I think you could explore the theme and narrative of the poem even further. It would be interesting to see the development of the relationship between the speaker and "That Someone." Perhaps delving deeper into the emotions and conflicts that arise from this encounter could add another layer of depth to the poem.

Additionally, some parts of the poem could benefit from further polish and revision. Consider experimenting with the structure and flow to enhance the impact of certain lines and ideas. Playing around with punctuation and line breaks can help emphasize certain emotions or create pauses for reflection.

Overall, I sincerely admire your creative and imaginative approach to poetry. "In A Square Circle" has left a lasting impression on me, and I genuinely look forward to reading more of your work in the future. Keep up the great work!
