Love and Lust

Olivier Dochez 1976 (Sint-Agatha-Berchem)

Lonely, alone, hungering for the love of a gentle soul. Someone to hold and have, to spoil and cherish until the universe isn't but more than the spec of dust it was before it's creation. To have love, with the power of all the forces combined in the universe. Yet no soul to wrap in it is a waste. It's a loss so deep no expression can describe it yet if it could be, no one could understand as it would destroy ones soul due to the force of it's impact. No gentle hill, no soft moss, no creek or waterfall will encounter the love I have, for no soul on this earth wants it. Humanity only lusts for the quick and glory of a fleeting moment of carnal force, once it's abused they flee, far and wide, up to the next innocent victim to ravish so their eternal search of flesh can be satisfied for another instant. But like my search for love, their search for carnal lust is equal as an addiction and both are equally powerful in it's ability to destroy. Wasn't Troy destroyed by both love and carnal lust being tried against each other? And though war is inhumane and disgusting, how we must miss the times where our Kings sent drones of innocent men into battle for the love or lust of another instead of just doing it today out of lust for power and fueled by hate.

Olivier Dochez

Olivier published his first poem in 1994, but after the backlash of his family for this and for the fact he is on the LGBTQ+ spectrum he lost his passion and romance and allowed himself to get into a mentally abusive relationship. during 15 years his romance and his passions were beaten out of him by parents and partner and he ended up trying to commit suicide on several occasions. since 2016 he has found his passion again, fist by mourning the end of the abusive relationship and realising he still loved his partner, but only in the shape from before they married, and he needed to rebuilt his life from the ground at age 40. Now at 47 he is finally starting to live again and is ready to share his poetry. Olivier is educated in graphic arts and decorative techniques. He was refused to attend university by his parents and got influenced to drop his promising career in interior designing for a job as a clerk. he has worked 25 years in customer services until it nearly killed him in the end. He was the owner of Two Guys from Brussels, a café safe house in Bangor, Gwynedd and invented the 'Praline coffee' and the 'Gardiners delight' iced chamomile tea. His favourite coffee is a Honey and Spice Cappuccino. more…
