Once in a Blue Moon

Once,
under the glow
of blue moon,
a mystical creature
entered her world.
Without notice
or time to prepare,
she was caught off guard.
Her protective shield abandoned.
Her usual defenses forgotten.
She becomes aware of
how stars are twinkling
upon canvas of night sky.
She breathes in the crispness
of the ocean breeze,
wondering why
she had never captured
the beauty of her world.
She focuses on his silhouette
against the backdrop
of the moon.
Hoping that he is real,
she reaches out.
Willing and ready
to let the magic in.
