Run

Run

Run, run, run come and play!

Measure me daddy,
I’m to your chin.
Cuddle me too,
I’m the same as you.

Candy worm on a fishing rod,
Cast your line for a Swedish fish.
Running on empty,
You’re no use to anyone.

Chutes and Ladders,
They wish to play.
Your mind so dizzy,
Maybe another day.

Run, run, run away and why?

About this poem

The tension of being a parent and adult from the child’s vantage point. Of being pulled in so many different directions with the passage of time.
