Heroes
Sharon OConnell 1971 (Massachusetts)
They stand so tall above us, the light around them shines.
They've made promises they will keep forever in their minds.
They live to protect us from what may come our way.
Braver than you can imagine, brighter than the light of day.
They have it deep inside them to fight for what is right.
So proud to call them ours every day and every night.
What they've done for us, they will never know
how much it means to us, that's why we love them so.
They sacrifice to protect those in desperate need.
They've been sent from Heaven, that's why they will succeed.
They are surely a blessing as we all can truly see.
They'll always be our heroes from now through eternity.
About this poem
My definition of a hero is a soldier, police officer, fire fighter or any person that risks their lives to save another. A hero is someone who serves our country and are committed to creating a safe place for their citizens within our world. I believe the term has been used lightly over the past few years for those who do not understand the true definition. The disrespect that our Heroes have endured during Covid was despicable. Some of these heroes lost their job for not receiving the Covid vaccination that was forced upon all of us by the Government. The vaccine has undoubtedly proven to create life-long ailments and many deaths that are hidden by the media and Goverment. It's shameful and sickening! Many have forgotten why they have the freedom they do. It's because of these Heroes that allow us to be free. I will be forever grateful for what these men and women have given us as we all should. Thank you more »
