Our Fragile earth

The earth is broken

Heat stretched miles unto the distant
The seas of dryness hovering over the streets
Weeping sweats running through our skin
The sun embracing the clouds openly as it grins.

The bonfire of air lingering on the skies
Blinded by fury that is burning on our eyes
Dazed as I walk through the sands in the city
The warmth of the earth has become a grim vision of life to be.

It's a wildfire of days we seem to bear
Brawling through toxic explosions of sun flares
Let this heartbreak of damaging our world be put to halt
As we may never see again, the grace, the glow, the soul
Of this earth, we call our only home.

About this poem

I wrote this poem during Earth day in 2023 and it just made me think about how different the earth has been and how different it will become if the earth will continue to stay broken. We need to do something about it.
