In Scotland's Rannoch Moor
conductor 1972 (nj)
In Scotland's Rannoch Moor, where nature thrives,
A diverse wildlife population comes alive.
Alongside heather and hills, creatures call it home,
In this untamed wilderness, they freely roam.
The moorland teems with life, both big and small,
Each leaving footprints amidst the sprawling sprawl.
Let me introduce you to a few of the birds,
Whose songs enchant, like melodious words.
The golden eagle, a majestic sight in the sky,
With wings outstretched, it soars way up high.
Its feathers gleam, a hue of amber and gold,
A symbol of strength, bold and untold.
Then there's the curlew, with its long, slender beak,
Wading through the moor, its presence unique.
Its haunting cry echoes across the land,
A mournful tune, like a poet's demand.
The red grouse prances with a confident flair,
With vibrant feathers, rich as a sunset's glare.
Its call echoes amidst the rolling heath,
A sound of wilderness, a rhythm beneath.
The charming dipper, a creature of the stream,
With a small, plump body, shining like a gleam.
It dives underwater with nimble grace,
Seeking out insects in its watery chase.
