Crystal
When you have to put your dog to sleep and she looks into your eyes, she knows she is going to die. There are no more rides through the countryside, and there is no place for you to hide. You sit there and cry. Every teardrop is one more day. Please help me. I want her to stay. But I know deep down in my heart that she has to go away. Take me and let her stay. She doesn't know hate and fear, so why isn't she here? She only knows love. When I scratch behind her ear, I am left with one more tear. I will save it for her for the rest of my years.
About this poem
My dog. I hate this poem. I can still see the look in her eyes when I had to put her away. She Knew.
