The Word Man...

I come to you tonight with some words that I rhyme,
Sometimes these thoughts just come to me without much time.
At times these thoughts they seem to weigh heavy on my heart,
Like a mountain of large rocks just trying to tear me apart.
Other times the words come to me gently like a blue ocean wave,
They float thru my mind and I feel so free like I'm nobody's slave.
I let the words flow thru my heart and then up into my head,
As this happens the thoughts slowly become words I write with lead.
Sometimes they are happy thoughts that I can't wait to share,
Other times they never make it out of my heart cause I fear - who will care?
People tell me that I have a gift God gave me to express my heart,
But I wonder does God know sometimes that inside it tears me apart?
I want to share so much but my heart is getting so hard to hear,
These walls have been building around it for what reason it's not clear.
I look inside myself and at times all I seem to see is all dark and cold,
Maybe I'm beginning to lose my touch or maybe my heart and mind are old
But have no fear I will write out my feelings just as long as I can,
After all they tell me God gave me the gift of being - The Word Man.
